Including Your Dog in Your Wedding Day with Pawsome Pledges
For many of us, our pets aren’t simply pets - they’re part of the family. So, when it comes to planning your wedding, it’s completely understandable that you may want your four-legged best friend there to share in your special day.
But who makes sure they’re fed, comfortable and cared for while you and your family enjoy the celebrations?
This week on The WED Edit, we’re introducing Emma and Karen from Co-Ords & K9’s and their specialist wedding service, Pawsome Pledges.
Meet Emma and Karen
Emma and Karen are a mother-and-daughter team based in Moray and the Highlands, offering professional pet wedding chaperone services throughout Scotland.
With a shared passion for animals, they understand just how important your pet is to your family - and how much it can mean to have them included in your wedding celebrations.
Both Emma and Karen are first-aid trained, PVG checked and fully insured. They also have experience and knowledge of caring for dogs with seizures, visual impairments and reactive behaviours.
“When your furry loved ones are in our care, we vow to treat them as our own - always.”

What Does a Pet Wedding Chaperone Do?
Every wedding is different, and every pet has their own individual personality, routine and needs. That’s why Pawsome Pledges creates a service around each couple and their pet.
Their support can include:
Pre-wedding training walks
Collecting your pet from home
Preparing and dressing them for the wedding
Accompanying them down the aisle
Helping during wedding photographs
Providing food, water and comfort breaks
Taking them somewhere quiet if they become overwhelmed
Returning them home safely
Overnight pet care following the wedding
Whether you’re planning a large, full-day celebration, a relaxed ceremony, an intimate elopement or simply want your dog to join you for a few photographs, Emma and Karen will work with you to create an arrangement that suits everyone.
No request is considered too small, or too much.
A Very Special Edinburgh Wedding
At one memorable wedding, Karen visited the couple’s home and spoke with the groom before he left for the ceremony.
She spent time with their dog, made sure he had eaten breakfast and helped him get dressed in his finest doggy suit and tie. After some pre-wedding walkies, they travelled through the beautiful streets of Edinburgh to meet his pawrents for their photographs following the ceremony.
Karen worked alongside the couple’s photographer to help capture those precious family moments before taking the dog home and caring for him overnight. His family could enjoy the rest of their celebration knowing he was happy, comfortable and completely cared for.

The bride had originally discovered Pawsome Pledges through Facebook and travelled all the way to Lossiemouth for their pre-wedding meeting. Although Emma and Karen are always happy to travel to meet their couples, the family decided to turn the meeting into a weekend away.
For Emma and Karen, the trust the bride had already placed in them meant the world.
Why Have a Pet Chaperone at Your Wedding?
Without a pet chaperone, responsibility for your dog will often fall to a family member or friend.
They may need to leave parts of the celebration to provide food, refill water, take your dog outside or bring them home. You may also find yourself wondering whether your pet is comfortable, whether they have eaten or whether the noise and excitement have become too much for them.
Having an experienced chaperone removes that pressure.
It allows your loved ones to remain present and enjoy the day, while you have the reassurance that someone is focused entirely on your pet’s wellbeing.
Behind-the-Scenes Photographs from Your Pet’s Day
As an extra-special addition, Pawsome Pledges has photography experience and captures behind-the-scenes photographs throughout your pet’s wedding adventure.
These often include getting ready, travelling to the venue, exploring the grounds and waiting patiently for their moment in front of the camera.
The photographs are usually sent within 24 hours, allowing you to enjoy a fun little preview from your pet’s point of view while you wait for your professional wedding gallery.

“My Dog Is Too Excitable for a Wedding…”
Emma and Karen hear this all the time:
“My dog is too hyper to come to our wedding.”
“My dog is nervous around crowds.”
“My dog would become overwhelmed.”
And that’s okay.
Your pet doesn’t know what is happening on your wedding day. They don’t understand the schedule, why everyone is dressed differently or why there are so many unfamiliar people, sounds and smells around them.
Not every dog will feel comfortable attending an entire wedding—and they don’t have to.
Your dog could join you for a quiet moment before the ceremony, arrive at a chosen location for photographs or attend one relaxed part of the day before being taken home and cared for.
You still get to create a precious memory with them without expecting them to cope with an environment they may find stressful.
Putting Your Pet’s Needs First
Pawsome Pledges always remains adaptable because plans sometimes need to change to protect a pet’s wellbeing.
If the weather is warmer than expected, Emma and Karen can arrange access to cool indoor spaces, provide regular water top-ups and reduce the amount of time your pet spends outside.
If your dog becomes excited, nervous or overstimulated, they can take them to a calm area that has been identified with the venue in advance.
By preparing for these possibilities before the wedding, you don’t have to make difficult decisions in the middle of your celebrations.
More Than 50 Weddings Across Scotland
Over the past four years, Emma and Karen have supported more than 50 weddings across Scotland, travelling to locations including Ayr, Aviemore, Edinburgh, Inverness, Dornoch and Aberdeen—as well as many of the beautiful places in between.
They cover weddings throughout Scotland and offer a discount to couples based in the Highlands as a thank-you for choosing and supporting a business within their local community.
The three words they use to describe Pawsome Pledges are:
Reliable. Animal-loving. Trustworthy.
Their reviews reflect the care, dedication and genuine love they bring to every wedding and every animal entrusted to them.

Planning Your Pet’s Wedding Experience
Pawsome Pledges believes in making the planning process as easy and transparent as possible.
You can view its set wedding packages and prices in the highlights on the Co-Ords & K9’s Facebook page. If the existing packages don’t quite fit what you need, Emma and Karen will happily discuss your plans and create a personalised quote.
After all, it’s your wedding day. They’re simply there to make life a little easier—for you and your much-loved pet.
Their diaries are already filling, with bookings being taken through to the end of 2028. If you’re considering including your pet in your wedding, it’s worth getting in touch as early as possible to talk through your ideas and secure your date.
